Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

I woke this morning wrapped in a cocoon of warm blankets.

The thought of leaving my tranquil bliss seemed almost painful.

But…I have a thousand and one things to do, places to go and people to meet.

Sleepily I stumbled into the freezing garage to take my daughter to school. As I took my first sip of steaming coffee, my eyes happened to glance through the window and I saw this…

It was magical.

Ethereal.

It took my breath away.

And it gave me a new, clear perspective.

I was reminded of the wonder that goes with the winter season…

and of all the things that I love about it.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WINTER

Frozen lakes
Hot pancakes
Lots of snow
Hot cocoa
Skates and skis
Evergreen trees
Funny hats
Thermostats
Sunsets blaze
Holidays
Snowball fights
Fireplace nights
Chimneys steaming
Winter dreaming.

In the hustle and bustle that seems to go hand and hand with the holidays…

stop for a moment…

breathe in the cold, refreshing air and gaze through a window full of ice crystals.

It will give you a whole new perspective.

It did for me anyway.

Wishing you a day full of wonder.

  1. How lovely! It does get hard sometimes this time of year to notice the beauty around you when you are rushing around like a nut to get everything done. The best thing I have ever done for myself for that problem is get a dog. No, really! I walk him every single morning, no matter the weather, and it forces me to notice the beauty in all seasons. There’s something about sunrise in the winter that is more magical than any other time of year!

Have a wonderful holiday season and a beautiful winter, Wendy!

  2. That is beautiful! Usually I look out the window and see sunshine, but today we have a little rain.
    Merry Christmas!

  3. Thanks for taking the time to stop & share this winter beauty with us! Spectacular indeed. The list is to the point & it makes me oh so grateful for the chill. That ice pattern on the windows is awesome!
