Herb butter adds a special touch and flavorful accent to any meal. Mold the herb butter into individual servings shaped like a leaf for an added wow factor!
This year for Thanksgiving I’ve decided to treat each of my guests to their very own herb butter pat shaped like a leaf. You won’t believe how incredibly easy it is to make!
With all of the delicious flavors going on at our Thanksgiving table I chose to make a very simple herb butter that complimented rather than competed. I went with a thyme butter.
The thyme butter just gives a gentle savory suggestion of flavor to the rolls and mashed potatoes as well as the vegetables or even the turkey! And the best news is that it takes only moments to put together! I just let the butter soften to room temperature, added a teaspoon of dried thyme and mixed until incorporated. Then I spread the herb butter into a plastic leaf mold sheet (that is usually used for chocolates) and popped it into the fridge for a few hours.
That’s it! How easy is that? If you’re looking for leaf molds click here. If you don’t have the thyme (sorry, I couldn’t resist) to find some molds, no worries! Just roll your butter into a loaf wrapped in wax paper and then cover with foil and chill until set.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Wenderly
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Let the butter soften to room temperature.
- Place butter in a bowl, add dried thyme and mix until incorporated.
- Spread the herb butter into the leaf molds taking care to wipe off the excess around the edges of the leaf shapes.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for a few hours or overnight.
- Gently pop out the leaf shapes onto a plate (if you put your serving plate in the freezer beforehand, the butter will stay cold longer).
- Serve & enjoy!
Adorable!
